If you are truly involved and dedicated then try switching over progressively. Don not try to quit cold turkey (no pun intended). Try eliminating one type of beef at a time. Then you will regularly be able to remove all the meat from your diet. The vegan or total vegetarian diet includes only foods from plants. People who follow a lacto vegetarian diet eat strictly plant foods plus cheese and other dairy products.

Over this time period bring in and increase the number of Vegetarian meals that you eat. This usually results in a vegetarian diet being lower in overall fat, saturated fat and cholesterol .You can find some unbelievable vegetarian cookbooks online and at your local bookstore that are filled with tasty recipes.

Just keep in mind to start slow and take your instance. Many studies have shown that people who following a vegetarian diet have a lower risk of obesity, coronary heart disease high blood pressure and diabetes. To give you a slight push here are some incredible reimbursement of a vegetarian diet as compared to an orthodox diet.

The Benefits of a Vegetarian Lifestyle

Vegetarian diets, when well selected, are connected to a reduction in the incidence of chronic diseases. And they are more favorable to better health than your average, orthodox diet. However, persons who join the church at an early age (before the age of 19) have a risk of death that is about one-half that of the general population

Chronic Diseases and Vegetarian Diets:

1. Obesity. In the middle of vegetarians there is less obesity. Vegetarians eat more fiber-rich bulky foods so fewer calories are obsessive. Most vegetarian diets in the United States are high in fiber and low in total fat, saturated fat, cholesterol and calories. If oils, nuts, whole milk, cheese and eggs are used in a diet, dietary fat (both saturated and unsaturated) and cholesterol will increase.

2. High Blood Pressure. Vegetarian way of life is avoid of smoking and drinking alcohol. This in mixture with regular implement decreases blood pressure. Some studies have shown that food allergy can contribute to high blood pressure, 10 and exposure to lead and other heavy metals has been linked to high blood pressure as well. Also, a vegetarian diet that is low in fat, saturated fats, high in fiber, fruits, and vegetables may also supply to lower blood pressure.

3. Heart Disease. Vegetarian diets call for fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and soybeans as a substitution for meat (which is much higher in saturated fats and much lower in fiber, antioxidants). Data from a national survey showed that people who consumed beans 4 or more times a week had a 19 percent reduction in risk of heart disease compared to those who ate beans only once a week. This contributes to a fit heart. High fiber also helps the digestive tract.

4. Cancer. Meats and other foods not inspired in a vegetarian diet can produce carcinogens which can lead to Cancer. There are those who advocate macrobiotic diets and various nutritional therapies as forms of cancer treatment, but there is not enough scientific evidence to back up these claims.

There is much other reimbursement to a vegetarian lifestyle:

1. Firstly its humane as it saves animals from being slaughtered for food.

2. Secondly saves money (as meat is expensive)

And lastly it is less demanding on the surroundings. So make sure you follow the rules of the diet as closely as possible for best results!

A Highly Effective Diet Using Lemonade

By : Gary Vaughn

Have you heard of the highly effective diet product that is made as a form of lemonade? While not exactly your Grandmother's version of lemonade, it is made with lemons. That is where the familiarity ends. The diet form of lemonade is made to provide all the essential nutrients that the body needs for a period of about ten days. Ten days is, for the most part, the period of time needed for this diet to clean the "gunk" out of your body and give it a restart from whence a significant loss of weight is highly probable. Sound like fun? You'd better have some excellent discipline if you want to explore this diet and have success.

One of the biggest and most common problems with diets is that of metabolism. If the metabolism is fired up, the calories are burned and the fat inside the tissues is reduced. If the metabolism is very slow and lethargic, the fat deposits will continue to build up and weight will be gained over and over again.

One of the biggest and most common problems with metabolism is that of "plaque." You see, when the intestines are coated with plaque and the body is inundated with toxins, the metabolism is automatically slowed down and weight loss, while possible, is very difficult to attain.

Thus, the lemonade diet. The diet is really a fasting diet that is designed to give the body a break from the continuous assault by junk food, inappropriate sugars and other toxins that enter the body in various ways. While preventing these common toxins from entering the body, the body itself actually expunges itself of these built up toxins and allows a rebirth of sorts in which many of the desires and tastes, accumulated through the years, are replaced with more natural cravings and the dieting person is able to easily form newer, more healthy nutritional habits. The lemonade diet is, as we've said, a fast, with the lemonade part being the only allowed intake of nutrition for a ten day period.

During this ten day period on the lemonade diet, the dieting person is taken from feelings of extreme starvation to symptoms such as headaches, nausea, stomach aches and extreme fatigue. The end result though is a person who has rid their body of toxins and feels like a million bucks, literally. They no longer crave the sweets or junk foods that caused their weight loss in the first place. Their natural cravings take over and they usually find themselves eating more wholesome and healthy foods like vegetables, fruits and low-fat dishes. Their energy level is accelerated to a point where exercise is more of a pleasure than a redundant and dreaded routine. Many people who complete the lemonade diet successfully say that they actually look forward to exercising.

The diet, while not debilitating in any way, is not loaded with low carbs, low fats or any other type of food. As a matter of fact there is no food involved at all, other than the lemonade concoction that you can make yourself or order online. You can expect to feel lousy before you feel like you've been reborn but, for most lemonade diet users, it is well worth the short ten days of suffering.

The average weight loss for the ten day fasting period is around a pound per day but the weight loss usually continues after the ten day fast as the metabolism is kicked up several notches and the added energy level continues to burn calories as the person becomes more active and changes their unhealthy diet for one that enhances the weight loss effect.

So, what are the ingredients of the lemonade diet? There are some slight variations that have evolved over the last several years but for the most part, the lemonade has remained the same mixture of lemons or limes, pure maple syrup, cayenne pepper and filtered water. It doesn't sound like much but the nutritive value found in these products is certainly enough to not only keep you alive but provide just enough nutrition that your body can actually revive itself.

The lemonade diet is not for everyone. As a matter-of-fact most people fail at it the first or second time they attempt it. It is a difficult task but well worth it in the end. The lemonade diet attempts usually prove more successful after the second or third time through. A failure to complete the fast during the first or second attempt is considered quite normal. Many people do have success during their third or fourth time through. It is not considered a failure, by afficianodos of the lemonade diet, if the novice lemonade dieter does not complete the fast. All who attempt the lemonade diet recognize the difficulty in going for ten days eating or drinking nothing but the lemonade concoction and water. It is tough.

If you feel like you are up to it or would like to start on a lemonade diet, you should simply run an online search for "lemonade diet," then make your lemonade and follow the instructions. The best advice is to go as far as you can in the fast and if you simply cannot complete the ten day fast, try it again in a couple of weeks. Once you are successful in completing the entire ten day fast and lemonade diet, you will be glad you did and your life will change for the better.

Who Else Wants The Health Benefits Of The Goji Berry?

As more people have begun to educate themselves on health and wellness they are realizing that many things that are sold to them, like fruit juice for example, aren't healthy for them at all. You might be asking, why wouldn't fruit juice be healthy?

Most fruit juice you find in the grocery store is unhealthy because it is watered down and loaded with added sugar and preservatives. It's hardly fruit juice, just read the ingredients.

If you are wondering how to get healthy juice go to your health food store and get organic fruit and make the juice yourself. If you don't have time to make juice at home and need it bottled or want to try another type of healthy fruit juice you should give goji berry juice a try.

The goji berry is found in regions like China, Mongolia, and Tibet (in the Himalayas). The goji berry has been eaten by the people of these regions for centuries and has even been nicknamed the "happy berry" at local festivals. It is not until recently that people in the west have begun to notice the health benefits of goji berry juice.

The Chinese include the goji berry in their medical practices. Traditionally the Chinese:
* Prepare the goji berry as a tincture for use in their medicines
* Eat them raw
* Brew the goji berry in tea
*Traditional cooking - it is frequently used in Chinese soups, and it is also used in a popular Chinese wine

What Does Goji Berry Juice Taste Like?

Both the Goji berry and goji berry juices are very sweet. Many goji juice drinkers compare the taste of a goji berry to that of a raisin. In my opinion it tastes pretty good, but the taste should be irrelevant once you learn the numerous health benefits the goji berry provides.

The Health Benefits of the Goji Berry

The health benefits of the goji berry that have been known and used by the Chinese for centuries include:
* Improved circulation
* Improved vision
* Cancer-fighting properties
* Increased sperm production
* Replenished semen
* Well nourished liver and kidneys
* Better complexion

The goji berry, along with many other fruit juices, such as acai juice, contains a powerful amount of antioxidants. Beyond that goji berry juice contains natural vitamins and nutrients your body needs everyday. Goji berry juice contains nutrients like:
* Physalin
* Betatine
* Cyperone
* Beta-sitoserol

So forget about all of those sugary "fake" fruit juices that line the shelves of your grocery store. Simply go to your local health food store instead and make real juice for yourself or tell an employee at the store that you would like to give goji berry juice a try.

They will be able to help you and even explain the health benefits of this "super fruit" in more detail. Good luck on your journey towards health and wellness!
